Who or what is actually behind DrSmile?

DrSmile is a young company from Germany. The company was founded in 2017 by Christopher von Wedemeyer and Jens Urbaniak in Berlin and has since established itself on the market.

DrSmile is now available in 9 countries. The aligner provider has already produced more than one million aligners and looks back on more than 100,000 completed tooth corrections.

In Germany alone, there are already partner practices in over 100 cities. DrSmile has been part of the Straumann Group since 2022.

Where can I find authentic DrSmile reviews?

If you browse a little on the homepage of DrSmile, you will find some Dr Smile reviews and testimonials. However, a little caution is always required here.

Of course, the aligner provider only publishes positive reviews on its website and is reluctant to criticize its own product.

After all, DrSmile has an enormous interest in convincing as many potential customers as possible to have their teeth straightened.

And how could that work better than with a lot of radiant smiling testimonials with perfect teeth?

Of course, you can take inspiration from these success stories. However, we recommend that you also use other sources.

You can find many DrSmile reviews on independent review portals and social media, for example. We would like to take a closer look at some of them here.

When doing your research, however, you should always keep in mind that users on the Internet tell us about bad experiences much more often than good ones.

DrSmile ratings at the rating portal eKomi

The independent online rating service provider helps companies generate and manage transactional ratings only.

DrSmile has already received a total of 1,839 reviews, of which 94.78% were positive, 2.50% neutral and 2.72% negative.

On the eKomi platform, patients especially praise the partner practices visited at the start of treatment.

The friendliness of the staff, the uncomplicated procedure, the short waiting time, and the professional advice were positively highlighted.

Some DrSmile reviews criticized the customer service and its lack of accessibility. There was also some criticism on the topics of the DrSmile app and retention.

For example, one user writes:

“Requests are answered with the phrase ‘Our operations team will take care of it and get back to you’ and you still don’t get any feedback. I tried to revoke everything 1.5 hours after signing the contract, so far without success.”

Dr Smile reviews on Trustpilot

You can also find lots of DrSmile reviews on Trustpilot. The rating portal from Denmark was founded in 2007 and publishes ratings of companies worldwide. Nearly one million new reviews are published every month.

DrSmile and its invisible braces receive an overall rating of 3.9/5 stars here (as of February 2023).

In total, DrSmile has already received 3,977 reviews, of which 68% were 5-star, 13% were 4-star, and 3% were 3-star. 16 percent of users gave only one or two stars.

Here, many DrSmile reviews positively highlight the telephone support, the app, the simple processing, as well as service and advice.

Many users whose treatment process is more advanced are also very satisfied. The quality of the aligners, the relatively painless treatment and the good treatment result are often praised here.

Some patients also note that they snack less and pay more attention to dental hygiene as a result of wearing the dental aligner.

Users write, for example:

“Wearing the aligners now for 5 months out of a total of 6. The result is already almost perfect. They are comfortable to wear, despite the small pressure, which is of course necessary. Has not limited me in my daily life. I’m very pleased and glad I decided to do this.”

Occasionally, however, patients report that the teeth have shifted again after completion of the treatment. This makes it clear how important the retention phase is.

Among the negative DrSmile reviews, there are also complaints about the fact that additional costs are due for the follow-up treatment.

However, this so-called refinement is usually free and part of the satisfaction guarantee that DrSmile gives. Additional costs are incurred only if not all the conditions specified in the contract in advance are met.

Other negative DrSmile reviews include issues with splint shipping and customer service, as well as communication in general.

DrSmile reviews on blogs and social media

Another good source of authentic DrSmile reviews are the various social media channels. These include YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, for example.

While you will primarily find reviews from users on their own profiles on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, you can also browse directly on the company page on Facebook.

For example, in this article, one of the authors of the blog Louise et Hélène talks in great detail about the positive and negative experiences she had during the correction of her malocclusion.

Instead of fixed braces, she opted for Dr Smile aligners and has not regretted the move. At the end of the article, she concludes that both the appointment at her Dr Smile Partner practice and the course of treatment were very positive.

However, she also points out that the Dr Smile treatment requires a lot of patience from users and the pressure pain is definitely present in the first few days after insertion.

All in all, however, the author is satisfied with the treatment and is now happy to have straight teeth.

For more Dr Smile reviews on social media, we recommend that you simply use the search functions on Instagram or TikTok.

Here, countless users comment on their tooth correction with the invisible aligners and often also show before-and-after photos.

How is DrSmile rated on YouTube?

You can find a lot of information and a personal experience report, for example, in this detailed vlog on Nadine’s YouTube channel:

Nadine gives a positive verdict on her dental correction with DrSmile. However, this is not the case for all vloggers.

For example, YouTuber Grey Young reports that his teeth shifted back to their original position about two years after aligner therapy.

However, it is not clear in the video which aligner provider he was treated by:

His experience makes it clear how important the retention phase is. This is because the teeth that have loosened during treatment with DrSmile are stabilized here.

By the way, in addition to loose retainer braces, DrSmile also offers fixed retainers that remain in the mouth permanently.

It is not for nothing that DrSmile explicitly points out that in some cases lifelong stabilization is required. Because our teeth shift continuously until old age.

Conclusion about DrSmile reviews on the Internet

DrSmile reviews from former and current patients make it clear that discreet teeth straightening with aligners is definitely possible.

Invisible dental trays actually work well in many cases and it is not an empty promise.

Of course, there are not only users who have had positive experiences. But that’s likely to be the case with any business – online or offline.

As already mentioned, you should always keep in mind that users report their negative experiences on the Internet much more often than their positive ones in order to vent their frustration.

Dr Smile also offers a satisfaction guarantee, so the first follow-up treatment is always included in the price if you are dissatisfied.

Additional costs are incurred only if not all the conditions specified in the contract in advance are met.

These include, for example, regularly uploading photos via the Dr Smile app or booking and keeping appointments that are necessary for treatment.
