Who is actually behind Byte Aligner?

First things first: According to the official website, Byte aligners are not (yet) available in Europe.

The aligners are only shipped within the USA and Australia.

In concrete terms, this means that the treatment is currently not available in Germany.

As soon as there is news, we will inform you here. Until then, we would still like to provide you with some information about the company here.

Byte is a leader in the field of teledentistry, offering home-use programs and aligner products that provide a faster and more cost-effective alternative to traditional braces.

Founded in 2017 and based in Los Angeles, California, the company is aimed at people who are looking for an efficient and affordable solution for straightening their teeth from home.

Byte currently maintains a network of over 200 licensed orthodontists and dentists in the USA.

At the beginning of 2022, the aligner provider also expanded to Australia, where it now also works with various experts across the country.

Byte’s dental team has an average of 12 years’ experience in working with invisible aligners, which underlines the company’s high level of specialist knowledge and expertise.

In general, however, there is much less information about Byte Aligner in Europe on the Internet than about competitors such as DrSmile.

The aligner provider is also much less represented on social media and YouTube.

We do not yet know whether treatment with Byte aligners will be available in Europe in the near future.

If you are currently looking for an aligner provider, we recommend DrSmile as an alternative.

DrSmile has already produced more than one million aligners and can look back on over 150,000 completed tooth corrections.

The company’s invisible aligners are already available in over 100 partner practices across Germany.

You can find more information about DrSmile here.

How does tooth correction with Byte Aligner work?

Byte, founded in 2017, offers a wide range of tooth correction products.

These include an all-day aligner that is worn 22 hours a day and, as an alternative, the “Byte-at-Night” system, which only needs to be worn for 10 hours a day.

Each aligner set includes the optional HyperByte device, a technology that works with high-frequency vibration (HFV) and can be used with both the day and night aligners for five minutes a day.

The treatment time with the all-day aligner is three to four months, while the night system promises a more beautiful smile within five to six months.

HyperByte, Byte’s proprietary technology, uses HFV to accelerate treatment and reduce discomfort.

This technique sends gentle micro-pulses through the roots of the teeth and the jawbone, leading to faster and more precise results.

Approved by the FDA as a Class II medical device, HFV therapy requires only one five-minute application per day.

Basic information on how aligners work

Aligners, often referred to as invisible braces, are a modern alternative to traditional braces.

They consist of a series of clear, fixed plastic trays that are custom-made to gradually move the teeth into the desired position.

Each aligner is individually manufactured according to a precise treatment plan based on 3D scans or impressions of the dentition.

The way aligners work is relatively simple but effective: they exert continuous, light pressure on specific teeth.

This pressure causes the teeth to move slowly. Approximately every two weeks, the aligner is replaced with a new one, which moves the teeth further in the desired direction.

This process is continued until the teeth have reached their optimum position.

And this is how tooth correction with Byte Aligner actually works:

1. take impressions from home

The process with Byte Aligner starts with you making impressions of your smile at home.

The aligner provider will send you an impression set together with detailed instructions to your home. After you have made them, the impressions are sent back to Byte.

Once your impressions have been received, you will receive a 3D visualization showing the current state of your teeth and how they will look after treatment with Byte.

2. treatment plan and ordering of the Byte Aligners

You will receive your 3D visualization together with the treatment plan. Here you will also find out how much the treatment with Byte Aligner will cost and how long it will take.

If you confirm the treatment plan, a contract is concluded. You can then expect your aligners to arrive around four to six weeks after they have been checked by an orthodontist.

You can also log in to your Byte account online to see the “before and after” pictures of the development of your teeth.

3. all-day aligner or “byte-at-night” system

As already mentioned, you have the option of choosing Byte Aligner for the whole day or just for the night.

Adding HyperByte to your treatment plan will shorten your overall treatment time – this technology allows you to achieve a straighter smile in just three to four months.

Byte points out on the official website that you will receive a full refund of the cost of the kit if it is determined that your malocclusion is not suitable for the aligner system.

4. wearing the byte aligner

You will receive your custom-fit aligners by post and can then start treatment straight away.

The aligners are changed every one to two weeks – the treatment is continuously monitored by a dentist.

You can stay in touch with the experts by uploading photos of your progress to your online account every three to four weeks.

5. completion of treatment and retention

Once you have worn all the aligner sets and your teeth have reached the desired position, the active phase of treatment is complete.

After completing treatment with Byte Aligner, it is important to maintain the result.

To do this, wear a byte retainer all day for the first two weeks. After that, you can wear your retainer at night and should replace it once a year.

How much do Byte Aligners cost?

If you have already taken a look at the Byte Aligner homepage, you will probably have noticed that the company communicates its prices transparently.

Unlike competitors such as DrSmile, however, your malocclusion is not divided into mild, moderate or severe – instead, there is only one pricing model.

As already mentioned, Byte aligners are currently available in the USA and Australia. For the sake of simplicity, however, we will only discuss prices in the United States here.

Tooth correction with the Byte “All-DayClear Aligners”

Tooth correction with the “All-DayClear Aligners” (wearing time: 22 hours per day) regularly costs $2099.

Alternatively, you can pay $89 per month in installments (36-month installment plan). You can reduce the amount of the installments with a down payment.

Tooth correction with the Byte “At-Night Clear Aligners”

Tooth correction with the “At-Night Clear Aligners” (wearing time: 10 hours at night only) regularly costs $2499.

Alternatively, you can pay $106 per month in installments (36-month installment plan). You can reduce the amount of the installments with a down payment.

Important to know: Unfortunately, the costs of correcting teeth in adults are not usually covered by health insurance.

However, we still recommend that you do not focus exclusively on price when choosing an aligner provider.

Instead, rely primarily on authentic reviews and research lots of testimonials on the Internet.

Who are Byte Aligners suitable for?

In general, Byte Aligners are suitable for patients with crooked or irregular front teeth and small gaps between teeth.

They are therefore recommended for mild to moderate malocclusions.

However, invisible braces can reach their limits in the case of complicated malocclusions – such as a severe overbite, underbite, crossbite, tooth gap or other types of malocclusion.

Incidentally, this applies to most Aligner providers, including Smile Direct Club, Inman Aligner, Bestsmile, Harmonieschiene, Smileunion, Six Month Smiles, Braceless, Impress Aligner, LetSmile, NewSmile, Smilelign, AlignerCo, Candid Aligners, Byte Aligner, Spark Aligner or PlusDental.

Currently, only Invisalign products are suitable for serious misaligned teeth.

Conclusion on Byte Aligner: Does the product deliver what it promises?

Even if only a few authentic reviews of Byte Aligner can be found on forums and social media, it is clear that discreet tooth correction is definitely possible with the company’s aligners.

The relatively good ratings on the independent portal Trustpilot are also positive – here, Byte Aligner achieved 4 out of 5 stars from around 6500 reviews.

Our biggest criticism, however, is the fact that the treatment is carried out entirely from home.

We always recommend that you make an initial consultation appointment with a dentist or orthodontist.

Providers such as DrSmile also offer a free 3D scan at the first appointment in the practice, which provides even more accurate results than a simple impression set.

In the case of Byte Aligner, however, the question of pros and cons is currently superfluous because, as already mentioned, the products are not yet available in Europe.

For this reason, the established provider DrSmile remains our recommendation for your teeth correction. There is a wealth of experience on the Internet – and the price structure is transparent.

The company not only offers good value for money, but also a satisfaction guarantee if you are not one hundred percent happy with the result.
