DrSmile Unboxing: My aligners are finally here!

What’s in the DrSmile box?

In the DrSmile box there is a small and a large box and a manual.

The first thing that fell into my hands was the manual – the DrSmile Info-Guide. It contains all important information about the treatment as well as do’s and don’ts.

1. the DrSmile info guide

I found this information in the DrSmile Info-Guide :

• Information about the production of the aligners
• The handling of the aligners
• The carrying instructions
• Information about the contents of the box

• Information on sleeping, eating and drinking, smoking, chewing gum and protecting the aligners

2. my invisible aligners

Next, I pulled the small card and the large card out of the box. Let’s start with the small one: They are actually my aligners!

My teeth straightening will take 5 months and I need 10 aligners per jaw. The dental trays for upper and lower jaw are each packed and numbered together.

So all in all, I got 10 individually welded aligner packs labeled with the numbers 1 to 10.

This way, I can always leave the aligners I don’t need at the moment packed away and make sure I don’t get confused during treatment.

3. softener, Chewies and Aligner Case

In the larger box is another cosmetic bag with the Softener, Chewies and my Aligner Case.

• The Chewies remain in the Aligner Case and can be applied during insertion. They ensure that the aligners always fit well. To do this, they are chewed like gum until the aligners have adapted to the teeth.
• The softener is a special aligner file. It is used when the edge of an aligner presses into the gum. It can then be carefully filed with the softener. This should be done gently and with little pressure – a few stroking movements are usually sufficient.
• The Aligner Case is the second home of my aligners. When I eat or brush my teeth, I can stow the invisible dental trays here. Thus, they are protected from bacteria and do not get lost.

4. smile assistant

The Smile Assistant is inserted into the mouth to ensure perfect results for the detailed photos of my progress that I regularly upload to the DrSmile app.

This is the best way to proceed:

• The Smile Assistant is gently squeezed and inserted into the corners of the mouth with the open side facing up and the wider side facing in.
• The Smile Assistant is then released – it now keeps its mouth open for the photos.
• When the images are finished, the Smile Assistant is compressed again and removed from the mouth.

In the app, there are once again instructions for the correct insertion of the Smile Assistant.

My conclusion about the DrSmile Box

Both the packaging and the contents of the DrSmile box make a high-quality impression and I was really looking forward to starting the treatment when I unpacked it.

Especially with the DrSmile Info-Guide I feel well prepared for the upcoming aligner therapy.

Because here all important questions are answered in detail once again. In any case, I’ll keep you updated on the progress of my treatment – so it’s worth checking back every now and then.
